Music Ministries

Music in worship thrives at Our Redeemers. There are many opportunities to participate in the music programs: singing or playing an instrument, as a solo or a part of an ensemble, in traditional or contemporary styles.  We welcome everyone with a desire to participate in leading music in worship. Our Music Committee, with representatives from all areas of worship music, plans music in Sunday services and special services throughout the year.

Our musical groups include:

  • Sonshiners – This fun, fast-paced group is for younger singers through 8th grade.  They rehearse weekly and perform monthly during services. Many of the kids also like to get involved in the Book of Acts plays and skits. Fun, fun, fun! Rehearsals are Wednesdays, late afternoon (September-May).
  • Redeemer Ringers -This instrument group plays handbells and chimes, adding a heavenly sound to our services with performances once a month with additional special occasions.  Rehearsals are on Wednesdays 6:30 p.m. (September-May)
  • Chancel Choir – This group is our accomplished SATB choir welcoming members from high school through adult. They prepare a variety of music styles from traditional to gospel. They sing several Sundays a month in worship and on special occasions.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:30 p.m. and/or Sunday 7:45 a.m.  (September-May).
  • Praise Team – This group gets our congregation on their feet with contemporary Christian music. It includes high school through adult vocal and instrumental musicians. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7:30 p.m. (year round).

These music groups take part in the Sunday services on a regular basis. They also participate in worship for Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and other special services.
All are invited to be a part of these groups.
